Dor Sagi grew up in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, spending her hours studying whatever instrument was at hand at the local conservatory.

She excelled in classical and jazz and joined the “Moran Singers Ensemble” in 2009 and the prestigious “Gary Bertini Israeli Choir” in 2014, where she participated in several co-productions with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by legendary Zubin Metta.

Drawing her inspiration from the legends - Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday - Dor decided that her destiny was to be a jazz singer in New York City. She did just that in 2015, moving to Brooklyn with a generous scholarship from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

Dor spent the next three years learning from the best in today’s jazz and grinding at corner clubs all over the City. However, she felt an intense need to more authentically express herself through her own music and founded her band in 2017

Dor draws from her deepest fears, insecurities, and aspirations to create an experience that dynamically jumps from somber to fervent. Dor’s lyrics and compositions are originally visceral - they become tangible building blocks of a dramatic, yet hopeful journey. With each song, each lyric, Dor’s emotions are stripped down and laid bare, for her and her audience to continue to search, to heal, and to build a stronger self.

Dor has released her first EP, “Op. 1 Night", on June 11, 2021. It is available for streaming on all platforms. The EP was produced by Jason Lindner (David Bowie’s Blackstar).
